However, we’re keeping an eye on a chance for thunderstorms from Friday into Saturday. As of now, the Storm Prediction Center has much of Illinois, including Pana, highlighted for potential severe storms. While details remain uncertain and specifics won’t be clear for a few days, current model trends suggest the possibility of strong to severe storms developing Friday evening into Friday night.
Regardless of whether severe storms develop, we’re expecting strong gradient winds from Friday into Saturday as a powerful low-pressure system moves through the area. Wind gusts of 45 mph or higher are likely for the Pana area, so be prepared for blustery conditions.
